Packet Switching: Virtual Circuit
Two kinds of Virtual Circuits:
- Permanent virtual circuit (PVC)--lasts as long as send and receiving computers are up
- Switched Virtual Circuit (SVC): lasts for call duration
VCs establish a connection through a mesh network--path is constant throughout call
VCs can share connections with other VCs
